The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor joined the Business Partnership to share how the Boys & Girls Clubs is making a difference for Iowa City kids.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor originally opened in 1993 under the name Boys & Girls Club of Cedar Rapids with only one location. In 2016 they partnered with Phi Kappa Psi, which has a national partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Through this opportunity, they were able to provide weekly volunteers and expand services. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor now has 6 locations.

Many of the kids they serve come from low income families and aren’t able to experience the same activities and experiences as their friends. Through the Club’s programs and field trips, they are able to help kids do activities they may not have access to otherwise.

“Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens,” says Sarah Hoeger, the Director of Marketing.
