Be recognized at breakfast with the Chamber Board of Directors

The Chamber has celebrated the area’s best in business for 23 years. This year, recipients will be recognized at the all new "A Toast to Our Communities Breakfast" with the Chamber Board of Directors. We need your help to find individuals and businesses to join the ranks.

Answer three brief questions identifying why you or your nominee deserves the award. Self nomination is encouraged! Nominations for awards are due by Thursday, October 27. Online voting will take place between October 31 – November 9 to determine the recipients who will be recognized at the new "A Toast to Our Communities Breakfast" on November 17 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Brown Deer Golf Club.

Meet new Corridor leaders at the Corridor Welcome Reception

Join us this evening of networking and making connections at the Corridor Welcome Reception. Help us welcome nine new Corridor leaders. Anyone living or working in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor, especially those new to the area, are welcome to stop by. The complimentary event will take place today, Tuesday, October 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Coralville Center for Performing Arts. Light refreshments will be provided.

Dale Helling retirement reception set for Oct. 25

Assistant Iowa City City Manager Dale Helling is retiring on Nov. 30, after 36 years of service to the city. The public is invited to a reception in his honor on Oct. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Chauncey Swan Park, across the street from city hall at 410 E. Washington St. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Emma Harvat Hall in city hall.

The Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce is leading the Iowa City area to become a Blue Zones Community. The goal of the Blue Zones Project is to position Iowa as first in the nation for well-being as measured by the Gallup-Healthways Well Being Index. Host of the Month - United Way of Johnson County

United Way of Johnson County is the united way our community comes together to give, advocate and volunteer to positively impact community conditions and measurably improve lives. Over the last year, United Way has led a multi-sector effort to develop the 2020 Vision Goals for the Common Good to focus improving our community in the key areas of education, income stability and health. The 2020 Vision Goals are education, income and health.

Area businesses support the United Way through corporate gifts and workplace giving campaigns that provide the opportunity for employees to give generously through special events, payroll deduction and the cash equivalent of donated vacation time. United Way also provides support for workplace volunteer programs.
