About: The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) offers a comprehensive entrepreneurial education program to all Iowans. All undergraduate students at The University of Iowa may earn a Certificate in Entrepreneurship in addition to their undergraduate degree. Advanced courses are offered to all graduate students across campus and at several locations across the state of Iowa. JPEC has partnered with the state’s community college system to deliver entrepreneurial training to all Iowans interested in pursuing business ownership. The Center also offers specialized curriculum, training and summer camps for Iowa youth and high school teachers.
Objectives: (1)Provide free in-depth quality assistance to small businesses in all areas that promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement. (2)Link resources of federal, state, and local governments with those of colleges, universities and the private sector to meet the needs of the small business community. About: SEED (Small Business Education & Entrepreneurial Development) is an active Chamber committee comprised of entrepreneurial small businesses focused on learning and networking to benefit our small businesses and the communities in which we live, work and reside. SEED provides busy small business owners and employees a point of contact and creativity for information on resources to start or grow a business and provide forums to promote and educate the community.
Brown Bag Lunch and Learn events on topics of special interest to small business owners and entrepreneurs are held quarterly.
